When I painted it years ago, I originally meant for her to have jewelry, but after finishing the painting, I felt the jewelry took something away from the piece--it distracted too much, and since I painted the jewelry on another layer, it was easy to just turn it off. Anyway, some people seem to like the alternate version, so I've always made it available o the public as well, although the version that those silly internet urban myths used was the one without the jewelry and that's the version that's been passed around the world for all these years.

Yes this is really beautiful! Some douche on youtube used it and pretended that the artist drew this before they commited suicide. They made a folklore/urban legend out of it which is on Knowyourmeme.com for "Creepypasta"
